ABOUT WEIHUA YAN

Weihua Yan (Wei-hua Yan or Wei Yan, 颜伟华 in Chinese) grew up in Shanghai. He first came to America as a high school exchange student from China in 1987. After completing his first year at Fudan Univerity, he returned to the U.S. to study Physics and Computer Science at Bowdoin College and Brown University, and eventually put down roots in Great Neck with his wife Carey, where they raised their sons.

Weihua is a co-founder of Diapers.com (also known as Quidsi Inc. the largest Mom and Baby Category online platform that was acquired by Amazon) and Wonder Group (Wonder.com, a food delivery platform that brings top chefs from iconic restaurants to people’s homes. He is currently the managing director of Pacific Bridge Ventures, an early-stage Venture firm that invests in AI and Vertical integrated Software systems. Some of his notable investments include Weee! Asian Grocer (sayWeee.com), Cook Unity (cookunity.com), Traini Inc (Traini.app), opAIda (opAIda.ai), Beyond Style among many others.

Weihua felt a profound duty to give back to the country and community that had given him so much. In 2009, he began volunteering in local groups like the Great Neck Chinese Association, and he became an active parent leader in his sons’ Boy Scout Troop. He continued his service as an elected trustee of Great Neck Library, where he served as president through 2022. He is also a board member of UCA (United Chinese American 美国华人联盟 UCAusa.org).

Weihua lives in Great Neck, NY with his wife Carey Cheng Ye (叶橙). He has four boys: Alexander Yan, Ethan Yan, Isaac Yan and Patrick Yan. HIs father is Professor Shengyi Yan (professor emeritus of Fudan University). His Mother is Xuejuan Pan.
