ABOUT WEIHUA YAN
Weihua Yan is a proven leader who will prioritize your family’s safety and future as our County Legislator.
Weihua Yan first came to America as a high school exchange student from China in 1987, and he quickly fell in love with the country that would become his home and the place where he would raise his family. He returned to the U.S. to study Physics and Computer Science at Bowdoin College and Brown University, and eventually put down roots in Great Neck with his wife Carey, where they raised their sons.
Weihua founded several successful software and e-commerce companies, and currently serves as Partner at Rise Capital, and as Chief Technology Officer at Wonder, Inc., a food delivery platform that brings top chefs from iconic restaurants to people’s homes.
Weihua felt a profound duty to give back to the country and community that had given him so much. In 2009, he began volunteering in local groups like the Great Neck Chinese Association, and he became an active parent leader in his sons’ Boy Scout Troop. He continued his service as an elected trustee of the Great Neck Library, where he served as president through 2022.

Now, Weihua is looking to serve our community as our next county legislator, so that we can finally have the representation that we need and deserve. Weihua will strive to restore fiscal responsibility and transparency in Nassau County, while protecting our environment and precious natural resources like our drinking water.
